About
Meals On Wheels
CHAGRIN FALLS MEALS-ON-WHEELS,
INC.
MISSION STATEMENT
Chagrin Falls Meals-On-Wheels,
Inc. is a local non-profit, volunteer-staffed home delivered meal
service. We receive no government subsidy and our program is available
to all regardless of income. Our service provides nutritionally
balanced meals to recipients in eastern Cuyahoga and southwestern
Geauga counties.
Nourishing meals are delivered
to elderly and disabled persons who are unable to provide meals
for themselves. Participants of any age must be homebound due
to illness or physical limitations. A volunteer driver plus a
rider deliver each meal to a recipient while checking the safety
and well-being of the recipient as well as the condition of the
home.
With caring volunteers delivering
the meals, recipients are able to continue independent living
in their own homes. Nutritious meals are planned and prepared
by a professional cook (the only paid staff person) and a team
of kitchen volunteers Monday through Friday. A payment of $5.00
per day is requested but no one is turned away for lack of ability
to pay.
An annual fundraising letter is
sent to the community requesting donations. These donations keep
us from being in a monthly deficit and allow us to maintain our
$5.00 per day charge to recipients.
OUR MISSION:
To provide nutrition, independence
and caring to recipients in the Chagrin Valley
To offer nutritious meals at a reasonable cost through the coordinated
efforts of the cook and board of directors
To solicit both financial and volunteer support from the community
to sustain our meal service program
To recognize and appreciate the dedication of volunteers who contribute
time and talent in serving this organization
